The Illini Formula Electric name should be used in its full form whenever possible. The only permissible abbreviation is IFE.If the abbreviation must be used, specify the full name first.
In accordance with the University of Illinois Student Code ยง 2-303(a)(d), language must indicate Illini Formula Electric's independence and autonomy from the University of Illinois.
All language should also follow the guidelines set in the Public Affairs Style Guide.

When writing about internal polices, plans, or subteams specify the Illini Formula Electric name first. Do not make the Illini Formula Electric name stand out by using different fonts, applying all caps, italics, bolding, or other typographic elements.
The 'I', 'F', and 'E' in Illini Formula Electric must be capitalized, even in email addresses and URLs.
Whenever possible, and when using the Illini Formula Electric name in print, ensure the entire Illini Formula Electric name is not broken by line breaks or carriage returns.

Files and media sent to persons outside of the University of Illinois should always be attached directly and never a link to an internal service like SharePoint.
Internal University of Illinois persons should, in most cases, also be sent directly attached files and media.
PowerPoints must be exported as PDFs before sharing and the file name changed to reflect IFE, the date, and the overall purpose.
